📘 Training Guide: Adding a Room in SAP using Transaction OORA

Step 1: Open Transaction OORA

  • Go to the SAP Easy Access screen.
  • In the command field, type OORA and press Enter.

Step 2: Room Maintenance Screen

  • The system opens the Room Maintenance screen.
  • Here you can view existing rooms or create a new one.

Step 3: Create a New Room

  • Click on the Create (New Entries) button.

Step 4: Enter Room Details

Fill in the following fields:

  • Object ID / Room ID → unique identifier (e.g., R001)
  • Validity Period → Start date = today, End date = 31.12.9999
  • Name → Full room name (e.g., “Computer Lab 101”)
  • Abbreviation → Short name (e.g., LAB101)
  • Capacity → (optional) number of seats, e.g., 30
  • Location Details → Building, Floor, Address (if needed)

Step 5: Save the Room

  • After entering details, press Save (or use shortcut Ctrl+S).
  • A confirmation message will appear at the bottom of the screen: “Room R001 has been created.”

Step 6: Verify the Room

  • Go back to the Room Overview list.
  • Search for the newly created room to confirm it exists.
